Foodie Pen Pals

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

This month I decided to participate in Lindsay’s Foodie Pen Pals. Basicially, she assigned you a person to send some goodies to worth about $15.00.

Courtney was assigned to me and I was assigned to Victoria.  When I received Courtney's email, she asked me what I liked, what I didn’t like.  If I had any allergies, would I be Ok with homemade, real great questions because I had no idea what to expect.  I told her I do not like nuts, am staying away from dairy, love chocolate and peanut butter.  About a week later, a package came in the mail!  I was so excited and it came just at the right time!

I opened the box and started going at it!  Almost before I was able to snap a few pictures.

On top was a card letting me know all the items enclosed were made in her town.  Wow, what a great idea!  I just sent my Penpal some of my favorite holiday treats :)

Inside there was mustard, jam, coffee, peanut-butter chocolate bar, and an almond toffee dark chocolate wafer.

I looked at it unsure what to do because I hate coffee and mustard.  I never thought to tell Victoria this!  What I did was give it to my mom to try it and tell me how it was, she loved it!  I then went into the toffee wafer and was a little hesitant because it said almond on it and dark chocolate ( I do not like dark chocolate).  Once i opened it, I couldn't put it down!  It was one of the most delicious things I have tasted and really want to email her and ask for more.  Next was the peanut butter chocolate bar which was good as well.

I was very happy with her picks and believe she put a lot of effort into it!  I loved her theme of items of where she is from.

I can’t wait to tackle next months Foodie Pen Pal!

Have you participated in an exchange like this?  What do you think of it?

How do you decide what to send?

And I promise to add pictures once my computer wants to work!

Chocolate again?

So, if you haven't read, I have given up chocolate because I am insanely addicted to it.  Once I start I just cannot stop!!  You can read that post here.  After some long, hard deliberation I decided I may go back to eating "healthy" (haha, that's a lie) chocolate.

What the real deal is, is I have this amazing protein powder sitting on my counter in chocolate flavor just taking up space.

Arbonne.com
One of my friends sells this amazing product and boy is it expensive and yummy!! So, instead of letting it go to waste, I am going to finish this up and then re-evaluate my chocolate addiction.

Are you addicted to any food/drinks?  How do you curb your need/want for them?

P.S. I love CherryBerry frozen yogurt and want some great toppings!!!

Two Weeks chocolate Free

It has been two weeks that I have been chocolate and ice cream free.

I can't say that I notice a difference with anything.  I am still craving chocolate.  That will soon pass I am sure.
I have been eating reeces pieces at the movies instead of anything chocolate.

I purchased "Yonanas" which makes an ice cream like substance with frozen bananas and frozen fruit.  I tried it yesterday and really liked it.  Into the machine went one frozen banana, frozen strawberries then another frozen banana.  It was yummy and I will definitely be making another one tonight.  The texture was smooth :)  Next time I plan on putting some chia seeds and maybe some protein powder.

Have you ever given anything up?  How did you deal with cravings?

Goodbye my love!..chocolate

One of my favorite things in the WORLD is chocolate!!  I am addicted.  Once I start, I cannot stop.  If it is in my house, it is gone that day.  It doesn't matte how much I have, whether it be one piece or a whole bag of family size M&Ms.  Another favorite thing of mine in Ice creme!! Again, once I start, I cannot leave the freezer.  Because of that "bad habit" it is one of the reasons the pounds creep up on me and my pants no longer fit.

Previously for New Years Resolutions, one year I gave up chocolate and the following I gave up ice creme. It wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be.

I have decided to do that again.  After reading Tori's blog about kicking her soda habit, I figured I would jump on the train too.  Thank you for the inspiration and motivation to get it together.

I told two of my girlfriends, Nicole and Carol, once I (key word, I) finish my Ben and Jerry's fish food ice creme there will be NO more chocolate for me.  I also included ice creme with that because there are many alternatives to ice creme, like my favorite, Cherry Berry!! (I must do a review on them soon- It is amazing)

I have been chocolate and ice creme free for about 48 hours~~ WOohoo :)

I miss you!!!
