Go for the Goal: October

WoW!!! Is it really October already?  Where has the time gone?
I have been working at my new school for over a month, and I am loving every second of it, well, almost!

September Goals

Survive and Run 75% of my runs.
These are going to go hand and hand in my explanation.  I am here, I am still alive, I have survived.  Not by much though.
I did NOT get 75% of my runs in.  Being the cross country coach at the school that I work out was great while it lasted.  It taught me many lessons, most importantly, don't bite off more than you can chew.  Living an hour away from the school, teaching 3 new preps, co sponsoring two clubs, and coaching a sport that practices M-F 3-5 was unfortunately, too much.  I had to say goodbye.  Because I said goodbye, I was able to get home before 7:30 a few nights last week! WOohoo.  I may have a life back and be able to "start" training for that marathon I have next month.

October Goals
Run
Get to the gym
Stay away from the "Nasty" food until after the NYC Marathon

I am off to bed as I have a 4:50 wakeup call to go to work.  I am envious of those who can work out in the morning!

What are your goals this month??

Go for the Goal: July Recap

I cannot believe it is August.  Where has the month of July gone?
It is time to recap my July goals and think of goals for August.  You can read my post on my July goals here, but on this post, you can find out how I did..
EEKK..

Goals:

1. Relax:  I cannot say this was done to the fullest extent.  With work and training's I did not get in any days off besides the weekend which I needed.  FAIL!

2. New Classes: PASS!  I tried some crossfit four times, the lululemon run club, Pilates, and some more spin.  I was able to get in some quality gym time.

3. Eat Healthy:  I would have to say I have been eating healthier, but it is not a compete success.  (But a start(

4. Tan:  This was a success for a bit, such as when I was on vacation.  Life..boy do you get in the way.

I can say that these goals I was not as successful to complete as previous goals I had made.  I had this realization that life will not slow down...EVER.. and need to deal with that.

How did you measure up for your July goals?

July: Go for the goals!

Seriosuly....
Is it really July?
July means it is time for my birthday..It is right around the corner
And July 4th
And Beers and Barbeques
And mosquito's
Beach Days....
I can keep going, but instead, I will give you my goals for July....

Goal 1: Relax
I need some time to relax.  I went from teaching to working summer camp and as I continue to work summer camp, I need to find time for me to just relax and chill out.

Goal 2: New classes
I am adding this to my goals.  Try new classes at the gym.  I am so focused on running, running, running that it is consuming me and I want to also work and incorporate strength and the best way for ME is to go to classes.

Goal 3: Eat healthy
Once I get back from vacation, I want to start eating healthy again.  It always makes such a difference in training for marathons.

Goal 4:  Tan
Yes, Lay and the pool, the beach and just bake in the sun.  I do wear sunscreen and lots of it.  That is how you know yo are a runner.  You cannot afford a sunburn because it would take away from running if it hurts. :)

What are your July goals?
How did you do on your June goals?

June Goal Recap time

Wow! I cannot believe June is over.  This month has flown by and I guess that means it is time for a recap of the goals I made for June.  To be honest, I haven't looked at them and cannot even tell before looking at them if I accomplished the.  You can find the post here for my June goals.

Goal 1: Portfolio..Accomplished, and even was offered a job!!!!

Goal 2: Try new classes at the gym..Sort of?  I haven't tried any new classes yet, but I did do Yoga at the Park and Spin once a week

Goal 3: Triathlon..YES!!!! You can read all about there here and I am even thinking about another one.

Goal 4: Save Money..big fat negative, again

Goal 5: Blog.. For the most part this was complete.

Goal 6:  Not obsess over my weight.. As I still weigh myself often, I have not obsessed or gotten upset.  What is the point?  Oh, maybe the fact my clothes do not fit but I am busy busting my butt on the runs and I can tell a difference in the way my legs feel..ROCK SOLID :)

Check back tomorrow, or the next day for my July goals!!!

June Go for the Goal

As it is now June, I sit here wondering where May has gone.  This month has flown by!  As life should be getting a little easier as school is letting out next week I am very excited to get started on the following May goals!

Goal 1: Portfolio
I need to made a teaching portfolio when I go in for interviews this summer.  That is my goal this month because as of June 28, open hiring occurs in Hillsborough county.

Goal 2: Try new classes at the gym
With more time for ME, it gives me the opportunity to try classes I have always wanted to try.  This also includes crossfit which I have a groupon for,

Goal 3: Triathlon
I have a triathlon June 16 which I have done NO training for.  My goal is to decide if I want to do it still (I do) and enjoy myself and not kill myself on a bike in an open road.

Goal 4: Save Money
This is for real!  I am working a summer job so hopefully most of it will go towards saving or paying off student loans.

Goal 5: Blog
I want to blog more regularly now that life should settle down.  let's decide on at least three posts per week.  I like that :)

Goal 6:  Not obsess over my weight
I went to the doctor about a bunch of issues I have been having and my thyroid levels are high and my iron is low.  I have more tests to do so until we know what is going on, no obsessing.  Since elevated TSH means faster metabolism, most people loose weight, I do not.  This has always been an issue.  I balloon up because it also makes you hungrier.

Good luck to all who have made June goals!
Share your with me as well!!

May Goals Recap

Here you can find the goals I made for May.  May certainly flew by as I was consumed with work this month and going through way too many emotions with it.  I finally have a free minute or two to go through my May goals and recap on them!
Thanks for sticking with me guys:)

Goal 1: Get a haircut
Success!!!! It was so nice to get a haircut.  Goodbye dead ends and soft hair!  This makes it so much easier to want to do my hair when it is so soft!

Goal 2: RUn 6 miles
Check!! It was not a full run, but a run walk of 7.5 which I will take.  Marathon training began and I am all over that (after this crazy week).

Goal 3: Loose Weight
Epic Fail!! This afternoon I received the results of my blood test and my thyroid is overactive.  Most people would loose weight because their metabolism is faster but I am known to gain weight because you are also hungrier.  Now that we are trying to work out meds, this should and WILL change!

Goal 4: Tone it up
Not at all :( But I have drank the drinks they recommend

Goal 5: Veganesque
This is simply not for me.  I am so picky that it simply was not possible.  I do plan to incorporate a more vegetarian diet though and try to cut out dairy which I do not normally eat anyway.

Goal 6: Resume
Check!!!

I am happy with the goals I completed this month.  Now to come up with my goals for next month!!

How did you do on your May goals?  What do you have planned for June?

Going for the Goal: May

It's May.
School is almost over.
Summer is almost here.
It's time for another month of goals.
This time, let's work harder at achieving them.

Goal 1: Get a haircut
Get a haircut.  Pretty simple, I have not gotten my hair cut in about a year.  Last May, I chopped my hair off and donated it to locks of love.  It was my second time doing this.  I am growing my hair out again to donate it.  My hair is gross and needs a trim.

Goal 2:Run 6 miles.
I have not ran more than 4 miles since December.  Marathon training begins this month.  Hopefully I will work my way up to 6 miles. :)

Goal 3: Loose Weight
Wait, are you surprised this is on the list because I am not.  Weight is a battle I have been fighting since High School.  After packing on the pounds since being injured, I need to get them off.  My goal this month is 135.  On this note, my next goal is:

Goal 4: Tome it Up
I purchased the Tone it up diet plan because I have hit rock bottom.  My goal is to start utilizing it

Goal 5: Veganesque
I have been reading up on a Vegan diet, and I want to incorporate it into my diet.  I will not be totally vegan, but modified.  I will still eat fish.  I was to slowly ween myself into this lifestyle.  I think this will be my hardest goal.

Goal 6: Resume
I need to finish my resume.  I will probably be looking for a job because of how the Hillsborough School system works.  I am a temporary employee and will not be guaranteed a job after June 11.
This is also were you come in.  If you know of anyone that is hiring, let me know!  I am amazing and people love :)

Going for the Goal: April: Recap

Is it really the end of April?  I can’t believe how fast this month has gone by.
Yesterday, when I was on Twitter, I saw Meghan’s Tweet about the April recap and linking up.  It blew my mind that May was approaching.
I started my goals a little but late this month, with that being said, I had a bout half a month to complete them.  Now it is time to see how I did.  You can find my post with the goals here.
Goal 1:  Save Money
Umm yea, I just looked at my bank account and I wonder when is payday and how long ago it was.  This month for some reason was very tight with money.  I did put money away, it is still away but I am scared I will have to use it next month or even at the end of this month as pay day is not till Friday, Rent is due Tuesday, again that slipped my mind and I have a bachelorette party this weekend.
2.Loose Weight
My goal was to loose three pounds and be 131.8, instead i gained a WHOLE lot of weight and when i jumped on the scale this morning I weighed a wooping 144.2.  This is something I am not proud of, and I really need to get this eating under control.  I have my reasons why I think I can’t stop eating, but that I will get to another day.
3.Do my Hair 1x a week
Yes!! This I have done :)  And it’s getting cut
4. Train
So, I have been training, just not as religiously as I should be.  I have gotten one swim in, a FEW runs, and a spin class.  I just purchased a helmet to take a real bike out on the road.  That is scary.
Now that I have recapped how I did with my goal, it is time to make my May goals.  I started brainstorming today and have them ready, just need to write them up.
How did you do with your April goals?

Go For the Goal: April

Umm..Is it really April?  Where has the time gone?

I saw that some people and my some, I mean A LOT, of people post monthly goals so I figured maybe I will do the same.  Since it is already the second week of April I am not sure how to the bone they are going to be accomplished.  I am posting these to keep myself accountable.  Feel free to check in on me and ask me how they are coming along.

Goal 1:  Save Money
I had a goal in mind.  I was going to immediately put $400.00 aside and not touch it until I bought a road bike.  Then life happened and plenty of doctors and student loans need to be paid.  As it is still the beginning of April I am going to try and save $300.00.  I have never actually tried to save money before.  HIDE THE CREDIT CARDS, too bad I know my numbers by heart

2. Loose Weight
I have been sick too much this month already but I would like to loose three pounds this month.  That doesn't really sound too bad.  That would man I need to be 131.8 by the end of the month according to my weight this morning.  That is changing every day though.  And now I have just declared my weight to all my "stalkers".  My goal weight it 122 :)
I LOVE MY STALKERS

3.Do my Hair 1x a week
Now that my hair is getting longer and I am lazy, I shower and throw my hair into a braid for the next day.  My goal is to do it at least once a week.  By "do" I only mean blow dry it so I can leave it down.  This should be the easiest of all my goals

4. Train
I keep forgetting that I have signed my Ass up for a triathlon for June.  I do not have a bike, cannot swim more than 25 meters with out stopping and haven't ran more than two miles in 4 months.  That my my goal.  Spin class at least 1x a week until I get a bike, 3.1 mile run at least 1x a week and a 225 swim at last 1x a week...

I think these goals are VERY attainable.  I will let you all know how I do with them.
WISH ME LUCK!
