happy new year!

Happy New Year!

Are you tired of hearing that yet?  We are constantly being reminded on all our social media sites, Facebook, twitter, instagram, but I guarantee I will be writing 2015 for a few months.

How was your 2015?  How was your New Years?

I have to say my 2015 was pretty spectacular.  My students are wonderful, we adopted 2 beautiful kitties, I got married, and during the last week of 2015 I finally found my running mojo.

It has been so long since I've been here, to be exact it was October so I should catch everyone up on things that went on.

August I had my bachelorette party that my best bridesmaids planned and threw and it was so much fun!  It was great to get to see some friends I don’t get to see too often and wear tutus and party :)

In October, I went up to New York and my aunt threw me a fabulous bridal shower!  it was great to get to see family since many did not come to the wedding.

Not the best but sister, mom, me, and aunt in NY

November,  My mom, sister, and a few bridesmaids threw me my bridal shower and the day was absolutely perfect!  We are so blessed to have so many amazing people in our lives.

Bridesmaids
Behn and I got married and it was perfect!  Well marrying him was perfect but the actual day was a HOT MESS!  We are still talking to Carnival Cruise lines about so many of the wrongs and all I want is for them to take some responsibility.  Yea, I would not recommend going that route for a wedding but it did come highly recommended to us.    With that we also went on a cruise, it was a blast.

Welcome dinner...
In December, I was accepted to run the NYC Half marathon again and I am so excited about that.  I lost my running mojo back in February after running the Gasprilla challenge and getting into this race was just what I needed to get my up and going.  I hired Abby as my coach and I am looking forward to working with her.  (I'll talk more about that decision on
another post)

We also celebrated Joey's birthday and tomorrow we will have had him for exactly 1 year

We also adopted our Toby to make us a family of four.

That purse is mine?
I really cannot wait to see what 2016 holds for my little family!

I will certainly go into many more details about all that is gong on but wanted to give you a quick recap of the last few months.

What resolutions or goals have you made this year?
Mine is to be happy and healthy

How was your 2015?

Thursday Thoughts

This I am currently at this old gym on a bike that probably won't give me half the effect as riding my bike outside bit it what I had to resort to since it decided to storm today.  I know I should not and will not complain ( too much) because the north is getting bombarded with snow and we are having a thunderstorm.  I am upset because I was getting outside on the bike this afternoon before I was heading to a birthday dinner.

my goal I guess for this ride is to keep my RPMs high to mimic what it is supposed to feel like.  sorry if my legs are really hairy in that picture.  I didn't expect to be in public.

Also, my moo motion tri shorts make me have a teenie weenie.  It is silly looking!  luckily they have excellent customer service:)

This is my new favorite picture of me running.  I think it really shows how much I enjoy running.  sometimes runs are ao much harder than others and it's remarkable what the weather conditions can do.  I ran the Best Damn Race half marathon in a little over 2:26 and boy was it hard! But it has been my fastest half since my PR in March. I am nowhere near where I would like to be speed wise but I have stated speed training again and am determined to get faster.  I know it takes time but I am not very patient.  That weekend we also celebrated Roris's bachelorette party and had such a great time! She had exactly what I want for mine so at least now I can steal her ideas!

How has your week been going?

Do you have any really unflattering clothing that you have? what is it and do you wear it?

and donate so I can participate in my first tri and so we don't have to hear those words, "cancer"

Week in Review

Wow! So the weekend is over and boy was that a crazy weekend!  From killer runs to bachelorette festivities and a Yelp! party, I am beat!  I am so happy that I am off today to get caught up on life.  And by that I mean, see doctors, run errands, grade, plan for school, and clean.  Now lets see if any of this actually gets done.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  I am already looking forward to Friday because then I have a week off (again, to get more done). Here is a brief rundown of what my weekend was like.

Friday

Friday I jetted out of work and had to go shopping for some sequins for my good ole friend Amanda's Bachelorette party! I headed up to Wiregrass and found that Charlotte Rousse had lots to choose from.  I actually have never shopped there, but I couldn't beat the shirt I bough for $10!  I met an old coworker for dinner at Ciao!.  The food was gross.  We split an appetizer and entree and neither of us liked either.  It was a little expensive for our liking.

Saturday
Saturday I was up "late" for a long run with my Team.  It was so nice to be able to start a run with them, as I am normally there before because I had double the miles due to NY.  I had a lovely 12 miler which kicked butt!  I napped and headed straight to Orlando for the Bachelorette festivities! I made it to Westgate Lakes resort ight before 5pm, we relaxed and got ready.  We played some games that involved the male body part and a booty shaking contest.  The shuttle picked us up at 7:30 for an 8:00 reservation at P.F. Chang's.  The food was yum yum!  We then headed to Cowboys for some country line dancing.  I actually really liked this place because this is a venue that you can be on the dance floor alone.  Most of the times when we go out, we need a buddy to go dancing, this was just perfect.  We then headed downtown!  We had so much fun scavenger hunting a little booklet of things the Bride must do!  I was so happy to get back to the hotel though because man were my feet on fire!

Sunday
Sunday I headed home as soon as I woke up, napped, cleaned, and headed to the Yelp Livin' la vida Local event held at Datz! It was so much fun and great to see my pretty friends!  Sunday was pretty unproductive due to my 2 hour nap and my 1+ car ride home, but it was was I needed.  If i did not nap, I would have been cranky pants at Datz!
