Remembering September 11

September 11 holds a special place in my heart.  Growing up in NYC I feel I have a deeper connection than other people.  I know way too many people whose family members were in the Twin Towers the day the planes crashed into the World Trade Center.  Too many neighbors fathers rushed to the scene, not thinking twice, even though they were off or on medical leave.  My father was supposed to be in the building but luckily had to get blood tests instead.

I think it is my responsibility to teach my students about what happened, for me to share my story as well as others.  It is my responsibility to say thank you to the heroes and remember those who lost their lives and fighting for us today.

I will be showing this video in my class and I think you may want to take a peek at it too.

How are you remembering 9/11?
